What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have over your data.

1. Introduction

QuizDare (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the QuizDare website and real-money quiz service (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

Account information

  • Email address — your account identifier and how we send security, transaction, and support messages.
  • Username — chosen by you and may be shown to other users (for example, on leaderboards).
  • Password — stored only as a salted hash (bcrypt/Argon2); we never store or see your plaintext password.
  • Two-factor authentication data — if you enable 2FA, an encrypted secret and hashed backup codes.

Wallet & transaction information

  • Wallet address — the wallet address you provide to receive your withdrawals in USD.
  • Transaction records — your upgrades, reward credits, referral commissions, withdrawal requests, amounts, and timestamps for payments in and out.

Gameplay & activity data

  • Challenges played, questions answered, correctness, response times, scores, and rewards earned.
  • Upgrade status and reward multiplier, balance, and withdrawal history.
  • Referral relationships — who invited you and who you invited — used to calculate commissions.

Device & technical data

  • IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type, device and operating system, and language.
  • Server and security logs, including request timestamps and actions, used for fraud prevention and debugging.
  • Anti-fraud signals used to detect multi-accounting and abuse (for example, device and network fingerprinting characteristics).

Communications

If you contact us (for example at [email protected] or via the contact form), we keep your messages and the information you include so we can respond and keep a support record.

3. How we use your information

  • Create and operate your account and deliver the Service.
  • Grade challenges, calculate rewards, apply upgrade multipliers, and track balances.
  • Process upgrades and withdrawals and record the associated transactions.
  • Operate the referral program and calculate referral commissions on what the people you invite win.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, multi-accounting, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Provide support and respond to your requests.
  • Send essential service messages (security alerts, transaction confirmations, important changes). Marketing emails, if any, are only sent where permitted and you can opt out.
  • Comply with legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering, sanctions, and tax-related requirements where applicable.
  • Improve and secure the Service using aggregated or de-identified analytics.

Where required by law, our legal bases for processing include performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as security and fraud prevention), your consent (for optional cookies or marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and browser storage (such as localStorage) to keep you logged in, remember preferences (like your theme), secure your session, and understand how the Service is used. Categories include:

  • Strictly necessary — authentication, session security, and fraud prevention. These cannot be switched off without breaking the Service.
  • Preferences — remembering settings you choose.
  • Analytics — aggregated usage measurement to improve the Service.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from logging in or playing.

5. How we share your information & third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

  • Infrastructure & hosting providers — cloud hosting, databases, and caching that store and serve your data securely.
  • Payment & withdrawal processing — the payment and infrastructure providers we use to receive your upgrade deposits and send your USD payouts. Your wallet address and transaction details are necessarily processed to move funds.
  • Analytics & error-monitoring providers — to measure performance and diagnose problems, using aggregated or limited data.
  • Email/communications providers — to deliver transactional and support messages.
  • Legal & safety recipients — courts, regulators, or law-enforcement where we are legally required, and advisors, where necessary to protect our rights, users, or comply with the law.

These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us. If ownership of QuizDare changes (for example, a merger or acquisition), information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records for legitimate or legal reasons — for example, transaction and anti-fraud records, and information required to meet financial, anti-money-laundering, sanctions, or tax obligations. Aggregated or de-identified data may be kept indefinitely.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your data (subject to the retention exceptions above).
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format.
  • Objection / restriction — object to or limit certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time.
  • Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

8. Security

  • Encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) for data in transit.
  • Passwords stored only as salted hashes; sensitive secrets (such as 2FA secrets) encrypted at rest.
  • Access controls, rate limiting, and monitoring to detect and prevent abuse.
  • Regular updates and security reviews.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We work hard to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account by using a strong, unique password and enabling 2FA, and never share your wallet’s password or recovery details with anyone — we will never ask for them.

9. Age requirement

QuizDare is intended only for adults aged 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live, if higher). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact [email protected].

10. International data transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection as required by applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
